Young Executive Development Program (YEDP)

ARTBA's Young YEDP is a unique program through which ARTBA helps train and develop the future leaders of the transportation construction industry in the United States.

The YEDP is designed to develop future leaders for the transportation construction industry by giving the industry's top young executives an intensive three-day introduction to the legislative and regulatory processes that affect the industry in Washington.

Over the past twelve years, more than 270 young executives from over 150 companies, public agencies, and state contractor organizations in 37 states and the District of Columbia have completed the program, and are active leaders through ARTBA in helping grow the federal transportation construction market.  Several past participants also serve on the ARTBA Board of Directors, and many are involved in the Young Executive Leadership Council.

The program curriculum includes seminars on the Congressional legislative, budget and appropriations processes. Fellows also attend sessions on rulemaking by the federal regulatory agencies and receive an overview of federal environmental, health and safety regulations affecting the industry.

The program features a meeting on Capitol Hill for each participant with his or her Congressman or Senator or the appropriate staff member. Participants are also introduced to the role of trade associations in the policy-making process and how leadership in their trade association can not only benefit their industry but also their own careers.

For more information please contact ARTBA’s YEDP Director at 202-289-4434.
